Continuous Charcoal Furnace for Biomass Charcoal Production is a newly designed machine for making charcoal. Comparing with the airflow carbonization furnace, its greatest feature is to produce charcoal continuously, not batch production. The entire charcoal production process is smokeless, and no pollution to the environment.

This continuous carbonization furnace can directly carbonize straw chips, rice husks, wood chips, sawdust, coconut shells, palm kernel shells, bamboo scraps, and other biomass materials. It has a difference from the hoist-type carbonization furnace and horizontal charcoal furnace.

With wide applications, it can also carbonize all kinds of wastes, such as paper mill wastes, wood factory wastes, plastic wastes, medical wastes, and municipal solid wastes.

Structure of Continuous Charcoal Furnace

The complete set of Continuous Charcoal Furnace includes the main kiln body, combustion heating system, smoke purification system, gasifier, conveyors, electric control cabinet, etc. The thermal insulation material of the main kiln body is rock wool.

Biomass materials for carbonizing

Continuous Charcoal Furnace is suitable for charring the biomass materials which are in small pieces.  For example, coconut shells, wood chips, rice husk, coffee husk, bamboo chips, sunflower seed shells, coffee shells, palm shells, etc.

When you use this machine for producing charcoal, we suggest the size of materials not bigger than 50mm. Though the carbonization rotary kiln has the function of drying, we don’t suggest carbonizing the wet materials directly, it will affect the carbonizing efficiency and charcoal quality. So it is better that make sure the moisture of materials is less than 20%.

Continuous carbonization machine working process

1、Pre-heating. In this stage, connect the gasifier with the gas tank, use the liquefied gas or natural gas for preheating the main kiln body.

2、When the internal temperature rises to the set degree, start to feed materials (w00d chips, coconut shells, etc). With the rotating of the carbonization drum, materials will be dried first to remove the water vapor.

3、The temperature inside of the drum keeps increasing. After the drying stage is finished, materials will start to pyrolyze and generate flue gas. The flue gas contains combustible gas, dust, etc. The flue gas will be purified by the purifying tanks, and the combustible gas is sent to the combustion box which is at the bottom of the kiln body for burning.

4、With more and more combustible gas is sent to the combustion box, fire is becoming bigger. Then the operator can stop the work of the gasifier gradually to shut down. From now on, only use the self-produced gas for heating.

5、Continuous feeding materials, charcoal is discharged continuously. The whole system enters the continuous charring stage.

How to operate the continuous carbonization machine

The biomass is ignited through the gasifier, and the flue gas generated by the gasifier is recovered and purified, cooled into a combustible gas to burn in the carbonization machine.

When the biochar carbonization furnace is heated to a certain temperature, the raw materials in the carbonization furnace begin to carbonize, and the flue gas generated by carbonization is purified and cooled to become a combustible gas, which can be used as the carbonization heat source again.

Coking furnace after about 30 minutes, charcoal powder from the furnace into the cooling system for cooling, charcoal powder temperature rapidly by around 400 ℃ down to about 20-30 ℃, then charcoal powder can be exported and bagged.

1.The continuous charcoal furnace can work continuously, and the raw material can enter from the inlet and output from the outlet continuously, which saves the cooling time and production time of charcoal and has high production efficiency and large output.

2.The continuity of carbonizing furnaces has realized char gasification, continuous carbonization, intelligent control, automatic collection of tar, wood vinegar liquid, and combustible gas cycle synchronization in a variety of functions. It has improved the product quality and has solved the problems of traditional carbonization having low efficiency, high labor intensity, and severe pollution problems realizing the reasonable utilization of renewable resources efficiently.

3.The continuous carbonization furnace is mainly used in the charcoal production line of first carbonized and then molded. The carbonized charcoal is further crushed by the charcoal crusher and then enters the wheel grinding machine to mix in the binder for stirring. Then after the charcoal briquette machine is made into a finished charcoal bar.
